Amazing Wonders Aviation- VBS 2012

Hello!

I’m back from a week long trip into the wild blue yonder, at Amazing Wonders Aviation Vacation Bible School!!  <------- And there should be an unlimited amount of exclamation points there because the week was full of tons of excitement and fun, kids celebrating Jesus, and all the adult teachers/helpers celebrating that another successful VBS is in the books!  I still think it’s the coolest thing ever to see kids singing praise to God, lifting their hands and getting excited about the things He is doing in their lives.  Awesome.

Just like out motto says:

 

It was a great week, with really high attendance. I had an all-time high of 20+ kids in my 4th and 5th grade class!  I was floored because I have the oldest group, and it is usually the smallest.  In years past I’ve started out with 5-6 kids on Monday and maybe growing to 10-12 by Friday so my numbers were REALLY awesome!!!  All the classes were big this year though.  I think having VBS during the week between when school is let out and summer school starts was a part of the reason.  Good to know!  Catch ‘em early in the season!

It is such a great blessing to be a part of vacation Bible school.  To see the all the kids getting excited about Jesus and what God is doing in their lives is such a wonderful thing.  No matter how exhausted we all are at the end of each day (and week!), I never regret teaching VBS and I get as much from it as the kids do.  The lessons touch my heart each and every day.  One day in particular that stood out to me last week was from Day 2,

 

God’s Power Over

our circumstances.

You can bet that I am thanking God every day, sometimes multiple times a day (!), that He alone has the power over our circumstances.  And I hope the kids last week came away with the same confidence in that power.
